Edward Emrick

Managing Partner

Edward Emrick spent his undergraduate and law school years in Gainesville at the University of Florida before returning home to Central Florida so he could help the community that he knows and cares about. After passing the Bar in 2015,

Edward has been dedicated strictly to family law practice; striving for excellence, a positive client experience, and favorable results.

In representing a client in any form of Family Law action, he is committed to providing the most informed, tactical, aggressive, and cost effective representation that can be provided.

Edwards free time is spent with his loving wife and children whom support him every step of the way. They enjoy supporting the Florida Gators and Cincinnati Bengals, but most importantly, being involved in and giving back to their hometown of Clermont, FL.

Edward has been involved in the Lake and Sumter United Way, at one point was acting as Vice President. He is currently the Vice President of the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation. He is a member of the graduating class of Leadership Lake 2019. Most recently, he has been selected to serve on multiple committees of the Florida Bar Family Law section.

Clayton Emrick

Junior Partner

Clayton Emrick completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and his graduate studies at Stetson Law School. Before passing the Bar in 2022, Clayton participated in multiple internships focusing primarily on Family Law. 
 
After Law School, Clayton worked for a time at a law firm in downtown Orlando before starting a practice with his brother in 2023. In his free time, Clayton enjoys fishing the Central Florida lakes, exercising, and improving on his craft. He is very proud to be back in his hometown, working hard for Central Florida.

Margo Magura

Associate Attorney

Margo Magura is originally from Minnesota and moved down to Florida to attend Florida Institute of Technology where she earned Bachelors of Science in Psychology.  From there, she completed her graduate studies at Barry University Law School.  During law school, Margo most enjoyed learning about  alternative dispute resolution as it provides an opportunity for her to be creative within the confines of the law. 

Since passing the Bar in 2023, Margo has dedicated her legal career to family law, driven by her passion for making a tangible impact on people’s lives every day.

Outside of the office, you will primarily find Margo outside, whether it be paddleboarding, sailing, reading on the beach, golfing with her husband, or walking their dog.  Margo has truly embraced Florida’s Sunshine State mentality.

Rebecca Backus

Lead Paralegal

Rebecca Backus graduated with honors from Purdue Global University with her Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies in November 2018. She has worked with Edward Emrick since 2017. Her education, experience, and enthusiasm for family law, complimented by a keen attention to detail and precise organizational skills, are an invaluable asset to her clients.

In addition to her work as a paralegal, Rebecca also serves her local community as a member of city council for Coleman, Florida and assists her family’s rental home business and goat farm. When not at the office, Rebecca enjoys participating and supporting her family’s many hobbies, from football, music and dance performances, and casual fishing and boating.

Alden Henry

Office Manager

Alden received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Florida State University with a concentration in Political Science. She started her career post-graduation in Tallahassee by becoming finance and lending manager. Alden has two daughters that are the light of her life and decided that the South Lake community, specifically Clermont, was the best place to raise them. After fully relocating in 2020, she pursued a new career as a title agent and escrow officer during the ”Florida Real Estate Boom”. She quickly fell in love with the real estate world and has found a passion in providing her client’s with a peace of mind with their homeownership.

In addition to spending time with her family, Alden loves to enjoy the beautiful Chain of Lakes that is located right here in her hometown by boating and fishing. Her passions are raising her daughters, music and of course the Seminoles. Alden is also involved in the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation and enjoys giving back to her community.
